A consistent gradient towards the channel is built into the Fundo in the factory. The channel drain has three cover plate configurations in high quality stainless steel, providing standard, deluxe and tileable options.

The shower water drains away through a narrow gap between the cover plate and the adjacent lining, avoiding the need for a frame to hold the cover plate.

There are no gratings, slits or drain holes and the cover plate height can be adjusted to match the widest possible range of tiles and natural stone coverings from 4.5mm to 14.5mm for standard and deluxe options and from 7mm to 20mm for the tileable channel cover.

The Wedi Fundo Riolito has two 20mmm edge trims on the long sides to provide a smooth level connection to an adjacent floor screed. These trims are supplied loose and can be omitted as required or trimmed off for direct connection to an adjacent wall.

All joints must be sealed using wedi Sealing Tape fixed in a flexible cement-based adhesive.

The 50 mm thick Riolita element is supplied boxed and includes an 80 mm thick Styrofoam® block substructure to protect the unit and drain in transit. This 80 mm component may also be used as a support base during installation. For a concrete voided floor the 80 mm substructure can be set within the screed. Both can be used to create a 130 mm raised installation, bonded directly on top of a concrete or wooden sub-floor.

In floor level applications to wooden floors this Styrofoam® substructure may be used or eliminated as required. The 50 mm Riolita element is bonded direct to the wooden sub-floor using the established procedure for wedi Fundo.
