Wet Room Ideas & Design Inspiration
Six wet room design directions to help you plan your project — from contemporary square-drain showers to fully accessible, level-access installations. Use these as a starting point, then speak to our team to specify the right system.
Contemporary Square Drain
A clean, minimalist look built around large-format tiling and a walk-in glass screen. A square-drain former such as WetBase™ Standard or WetBase™ ONE Infinity suits this style well — the single-fall design on WetBase™ ONE avoids diagonal cuts on large tiles.
Loft Conversion, Linear Drain
Concrete-effect tiling and a full-width linear drain suit loft or attic conversions particularly well, where a low-profile former is often needed under restricted ceiling heights. WetBase™ Linear lets the installer position the outlet to suit the joist layout — ideal on timber sub-floors.
Accessible & Level-Access
A genuinely level-access shower area with a non-slip vinyl finish, wide clear space and grab rail provision. For wheelchair or point-loading use, Contour ShowerDec, AKW Tuff Form and Impey Level Dec are all rated for this application — see our accessible wet rooms guide for full specification advice.
Natural Stone & Double Vanity
A warm travertine-effect finish across floor and walls gives a natural, spa-like feel, paired here with a double vessel basin vanity. The wet room area sits within the same stone finish for a seamless look — achievable with large-format porcelain tiling over any WetBase™ former.
Freestanding Bath & Wet Room
Combining a freestanding bath with an open wet room shower area works well in larger bathrooms, giving a calm, boutique-hotel feel. A single accent wall colour, as shown here, helps zone the bathing area from the shower without any physical division. The wet room area is fully tanked and waterproofed independently of the bath installation.
Bright Loft Bathroom
A light, marble-effect finish makes the most of natural light from roof windows, with a walk-in shower area and freestanding bath sharing the same space. Large-format porcelain tiling like this works well over Warmup underfloor heating, keeping the whole floor comfortable underfoot.
